Introducing our Global Auto Finance Summit 2019 venue - Goodwood Estate!

Spanning a huge 12,000 acres, Goodwood Estate is nestled at the foot of the South Downs, Chichester and is surrounded by beautiful countryside, sandy beaches, fishing villages and historical and family attractions.

The picturesque parkland of the Goodwood Estate provides a stunning backdrop to Goodwood House, one of the finest stately homes in the country and seat of the Duke of Richmond. The house was built around 1600 and is a Grade I listed building. Recently the house has been refurbished by the current Duke and Duchess, giving it an up to date sense of regency.

Charles Gordon-Lennox is the current Duke of Richmond and moved from London to the family seat Goodwood to take over management of the estate, following the family tradition of the Duke handing over management to the heir apparent when the latter turns forty.

His Grace is the founder of the Goodwood Festival of Speed which launched in 1998 to bring motorsport back to a place steeped in racing history; his grandfather opened Goodwood Motor Circuit in 1948, with Formula One world champions including Graham Hill and Jim Clark racing there in the 1950s and 1960s.

The Festival of Speed is totally unique in the racing world; No barriers, no wire fences, a paddock open to all, and a hill climb that snaked to the top of Goodwood Park. Take a look at some of the highlights from last year’s Festival of Speed:

Along with motorsport, the name Goodwood is also synonymous with horse racing. First introduced in 1802 Goodwood's racing season has now grown and consists of 19 unique race days, including the flagship event, the Qatar Goodwood Festival, affectionately known as 'Glorious Goodwood'.

The course has seen several historic moments such as Double Trigger fending off his full-brother Double Eclipse in the 1995 Goodwood Cup, Midday securing three consecutive Nassau Stakes wins in 2009, 2010 and 2011 respectively and the star of last years festival Stradivarius, who will be looking to take home the Goodwood Cup for a third festival in a row later this year.

Nowhere else in the world will you find such a spectacular range of luxury and sporting activities in one beautiful place and we look forward to making you feel at home at such a breath-taking venue when you join us for the Global Auto Finance Summit 2019.
