Sword Apak acquires Teknicom's banking systems
Sword Apak is delighted to announce it has acquired the bank automation software products of Teknicom, a leader in retail branch banking automation.
The systems are in use at 120 client sites in 62 countries, processing more than 11 million transactions daily, in seven languages. Users include Barclays Bank PLC and the ANZ Banking Group.
"This is an exciting opportunity to expand our range of products and services to the banking market," said Tony Papadopoullos, Sword Apak Managing Director. "The acquisition adds a global dimension to our established customer base."
Sword Apak will provide a dedicated team, including staff from Teknicom, to support and develop the product range.
Principal products acquired by Sword Apak are BEAM, the Branch Environment Automation Manager, and BankDirect/NT, a remote banking system with Internet capability.
BEAM is a Windows-based system providing a sophisticated branch environment interfaced to back office and head office operations. BEAM can be quickly and economically installed at multiple branch sites, including bank agents who supply financial services on the host bank's behalf. It will also support multiple bank hosts.
BankDirect/NT delivers 24-hour online functionality with secure payments and transfers and the ability to handle trade, finance and credit applications, making it suitable for both retail and corporate customers. BankDirect /NT is based around the latest Internet technology.
